Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 recently received a major movement buff, making the game more enjoyable for players. Sledgehammer Games announced the changes in their latest patch notes, and after the update on November 17, the game is now much faster. Popular CoD content creator ExoGhost posted a video of him playing the game in MW2 Moshpit mode, showcasing the smoother gameplay.
Regarding the update, the content creator tweeted,
This article will provide an in-depth perspective on Modern Warfare 3’s recent movement changes. Read on to learn more.
On November 17, MW3’s latest patch notes revealed the following changes in the game’s movement.
- 75% decrease in Tac Sprint refresh delay after sliding
- Tac Sprint refresh time now matches the Infantry Vest/Running Sneakers
- 53% decrease in sprint delay after sliding
Previously, there was a small delay added after sliding to the Tac Sprint refresh time, which was not present in beta. However, the community did not respond well to this change, and the developers acknowledged that players felt it was “too aggressive.”
As a result, the developers rolled out this update to add more fluidity to the player movement in Modern Warfare 3. CoD content creator ExoGhost’s post and Twitter thread indicate that fans are also loving the new changes.
Another content creator, FNATIC Stallion, expressed excitement and stated,
“Oh man, I cannot wait to get on and jam this now.”
Other users also expressed their appreciation for the smoother movement. Given the heavy criticism of the slow movement in Modern Warfare 2 and the removal of Slide Cancel, it appears that Activision is aiming to focus on the OG CoD experience.
With all the advanced movement mechanisms, CoD’s skill gap is notably increasing. While some members of the community initially criticized this development, it seems that the majority of fans are now loving the changes. Additionally, there is a rumor suggesting that the devs are considering adding the Bunny Hop option back into the game, making the current game very similar to Modern Warfare (2019).
