Three ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2023 matches were played today. Namibia faced Kenya in the 12th match at the United Cricket Club Ground, while Rwanda and Zimbabwe competed in the 13th match at the Wanderers Cricket Ground. Nigeria took on Uganda in the 14th match at the United Cricket Club Ground.
Namibia remains in first place with eight points and a Net Run Rate of +2.746. Uganda moved to the second spot with six points and a Net Run Rate of +0.503. Kenya slipped to third place with six points and a Net Run Rate of +0.481. Zimbabwe climbed to fourth place with four points and a Net Run Rate of +2.276. Nigeria is in fifth place with one win and a Net Run Rate of -0.237. Rwanda and Tanzania are at the bottom without a victory.
Namibia won the toss and elected to bowl against Kenya. Kenya scored 104 runs for the loss of six wickets, with Irfan Karim contributing 43 runs off 47 deliveries. Namibia chased down the target in 15.2 overs, winning by six wickets with Jan Frylinck scoring 57 runs off 41 deliveries.
In the Rwanda vs. Zimbabwe match, Zimbabwe posted a total of 215 runs for the loss of four wickets. Rwanda was bundled out for 71 runs, and Zimbabwe won by 144 runs. Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza and Tadiwanashe Marumani led the scoring.
Nigeria batted first against Uganda and was bowled out for 99 runs. Uganda secured victory by nine wickets with Ronak Patel scoring 60 runs off 52 deliveries.
