Ben Stokes, England Test Captain, Undergoes Knee Surgery and Begins Rehabilitation in Preparation for India Tour

The recently England Test captain, Ben Stokes, had a successful knee surgery and has started rehabilitation. He has been dealing with chronic tendonitis in his left knee and has struggled to bowl as a result. This has forced him to play as a specialist batter in recent matches, including the ODI World Cup in India. With a 5-match Test series in India approaching, Stokes opted for surgery in order to regain fitness and continue serving as an all-rounder. He also withdrew from IPL 2024, citing workload management as the reason. This decision was analyzed by former India opener Aakash Chopra, who suggested that it was the right move. He speculated that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would not have retained Stokes and questioned whether any team would have bought him for the high bid of 16.25 crores. There is now speculation about how CSK will allocate the freed-up funds in the upcoming mini-auction. Do you agree with Chopra’s assessment? Let us know in the comments below.
