Netflix will release Grand Theft Auto (GTA): The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in December 2023. Fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto 6’s trailer, as well as the Winter Update for Grand Theft Auto Online. The Definitive Edition, which was originally available on consoles and PC in 2021, is now confirmed to be coming to mobile through Netflix. The release date is set for December 14, 2023, and pre-registration is already open for interested users. The three titles, Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas, will be accessible through the official Netflix mobile app, as well as the Apple App Store and Google Play for Netflix members. Players will need an active Netflix subscription to access these remastered titles, and there will be no ads, in-app purchases, or extra fees. This collaboration between Netflix and Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, was reported by The Wall Street Journal in October 2023. This move by Netflix to host mobile video games on its app aligns with its recent trend of including games based on its original shows. The release date for the mobile ports of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas coincides with the release of the GTA Online Winter Update 2023 and the debut of the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6.
