Rutuja Bhosale leads the pack as eight Indians secure spots in ITF Women’s World Tour

Indians clinch all eight qualifying spots for the ITF Women’s World Tour, set to start on November 21. Rutuja Bhosale, who won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023, is the third seed in the upcoming tournament and the top seed among Indians. She is paired with Rohan Bopanna, winning the mixed doubles in the Asian Games. Bhosale is scheduled to face India’s Smriti Bhasin in the first round of the USD 2500 championship. Nigina Abduraimova from Uzbekistan is the No.1 seed in the ITF Women’s World Tour.

Yashasvini Panwar, Sonal Patil, Saumya Vig, Paavanil Paathak, Kundali Magjaine, Vanshita Pathania, Pooja Ingale, and Lakshmi Prabha Arunkumar are the eight Indians who qualified for the event. Magjaine, the 11th seed, defeated Sandeepti Singh Rao, while Patil won against Sravya Shivani. Panwar and Saumya defeated Apurva Vemuri and Abhilasha Bista, respectively. Pathania faced a tough match against Arthi Muniyan but managed to win. Lakshmi, Paavanil, and Vig also secured victories in their respective matches.
