The MMA Guru Nails Jon Anik Impression, Leaves UFC Bantamweight in Stitches

Jon Anik was recently impersonated by a YouTuber, and a rising UFC-signed 135-pounder was amused by it. On The MSP Show with Cameron Saaiman, The MMA Guru did a playful faux commentary over Lauren Murphy versus Miesha Tate while impersonating the UFC’s lead play-by-play announcer, Jon Anik. Guru also threw in an impersonation of Darren Till, which had Saaiman struggling to control his laughter.

The UFC 278 call of Leon Edwards’ UFC title win last year is considered Jon Anik’s career-defining call. Anik has been calling fights since UFC 155 and has shown great chemistry with various talented color commentators, including Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier, and Dominick Cruz. Other notable MMA announcers include Mauro Ranallo, known for his memorable Pride call during Kevin Randleman’s knockout of Mirko Cro Cop, and Joe Rogan, who has had memorable calls in fights like Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort.

Notably, Mike Goldberg also stands out with his iconic lines and identifiable sayings. Despite some passionate calls, there were several fights that were punctuated by just yelling. These announcers have contributed to some of the biggest moments in the history of MMA.
