Arsenal legend Thierry Henry commented about Manchester United’s surprising goalscoring form in the UEFA Champions League. Although they scored as many goals as group winners Bayern Munich, the Red Devils finished at the bottom of their group. The 1-0 home defeat to Bayern on Tuesday condemned them to this fate. Their struggles in the league, where they have only managed 18 goals in 16 games, contrasts sharply with their goalscoring form in Europe. United finished bottom with just one win, also netting 12 times but conceding a whopping 15. This season, Manchester United have finished at the bottom of their UEFA Champions League group for the first time since 2005-06. Despite their attacking prowess, their defending was dismal and they became the first English side to twice finish at the bottom of a UEFA Champions League group.
