A former WWE Superstar teased being the Devil of AEW. His identity is unknown, but there are possibilities. The person in question is Shawn Spears (fka Tye Dillinger). He has been with All Elite Wrestling since their first show in 2019, following his departure from WWE in the same year. His last live appearance was at the All Out pay-per-view three months ago, and his last singles contest was back in July. On Twitter, Shawn Spears had a one-sentence post, teasing being a “cheeky Devil.” With his minimal appearances in AEW, the possibility cannot be ruled out, and he could be the man in the mask.
Shawn Spears has been in professional wrestling for decades. He recently revealed that CM Punk played a part in his best and final run with WWE. He was given a tryout a few years later because of CM Punk’s recommendation. This eventually led him back to WWE for another six years, until departing once again and heading to AEW. He credits The Straight Edge Superstar for helping him have connections within the industry.
If Shawn Spears ends up being the Devil, it would be an unexpected turn of events. This would be an interesting way to bring him back into the fold. How do you feel about the idea of him being the Devil? Let us know in the comments section below.
