Neymar Jr was happy to see former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez score a hat-trick for Gremio on November 9. Suarez, 36, netted three goals in a 4-3 win against Botafogo, taking his total for the season to 23 goals and 16 assists in 48 games across competitions.
Suarez got his first goal in the 49th minute, followed by two more goals in quick succession, leading Gremio to a comeback victory. In his six years at Barcelona, Suarez scored 195 goals and 113 assists in 283 games, playing with Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Earlier this year, Suarez claimed that Neymar would have won the Ballon d’Or if he had stayed at Barcelona. Neymar left the Catalan giants in 2017, choosing to join Paris Saint-Germain. At Barcelona, he scored 105 goals and 76 assists in 186 games, but has since struggled to match that form at PSG, scoring 118 goals and 77 assists in 173 games.
