Dillon Gabriel recently announced his transfer to play for Oregon. After two seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners, he has made the decision to continue his college football career in Eugene.
With Gabriel’s departure, there is uncertainty about his availability for the Alamo Bowl, as he has not ruled out playing for the Sooners in that game. Head coach Brent Venables has also not made a final decision about Gabriel’s participation in the bowl game.
If Gabriel is unable to play, the Sooners will turn to freshman Jackson Arnold to lead their offense against Arizona.
Gabriel’s move to Oregon is a significant loss for Oklahoma, but his potential participation in the Alamo Bowl could give the team a competitive advantage.
