Vinay Tevathia is once again playing for the Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 10. He has been one of the most promising raiders for the Panchkula-based franchise in this edition. Vinay, along with Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Dahiya, was retained in the Retained Young Players (RYP) category. The Delhi-born player forms the core of the raiding unit for the Steelers alongside K.Prapanjan, Siddharth Desai, and Chandran Ranjit.
Vinay has played three matches for the Haryana Steelers in the PKL 10 so far, scoring 18 points with a 40% raid strike rate. After a disappointing start with a loss to UP Yoddhas, the Haryana Steelers bounced back with a victory against Bengaluru Bulls, where Vinay and Siddharth Desai showcased strong performances with their raids, sharing 15 points between them.
In their recent fixture of the PKL, Vinay managed to secure five raid points in Haryana’s two-point victory against Dabang Delhi KC. In total, he has played 56 matches for the Haryana Steelers and accumulated 232 points. Despite not achieving a Super 10 yet in PKL 10, he accounted for three in his debut season, season 7.
Vinay was signed by the Haryana Steelers in the 2019 PKL auction for a price of INR 7.26 lakh. He made an impressive debut, scoring 129 points with a 39% successful raid rate. His performance earned him a pay raise of INR 25 lakh when he was retained by the Steelers for the next season. Having played solely for the Haryana Steelers throughout his PKL career, Vinay will complete his fourth season for the franchise.
